Step 1: Gather Your Tools

Step 2: Remove the Piano Lid
To start, you’ll need to remove the piano lid. The lid is usually attached with screws or hinges. Use your screwdriver set or socket wrench set to remove the screws or hinges. Once the lid is removed, set it aside safely.

It’s important to wear protective gloves and goggles when removing the lid, as it can be heavy and may have sharp edges.
Step 3: Remove the Piano Legs
The next step is to remove the piano legs. The legs are usually attached with screws or bolts. Use your socket wrench set to remove the screws or bolts. Once the legs are removed, set them aside safely.

If the legs are difficult to remove, you can use a hammer to gently tap them out of place. Be careful not to damage the piano or the legs.
Step 4: Remove the Piano Pedals
The piano pedals are usually attached with screws or bolts. Use your screwdriver set or socket wrench set to remove the screws or bolts. Once the pedals are removed, set them aside safely.

If the pedals are difficult to remove, you can use needle-nose pliers to grip and turn the screws or bolts.
Step 5: Remove the Piano Keyboard

The keyboard may have wires or cables attached to it. Be careful not to damage these wires or cables when removing the keyboard.
Step 6: Remove the Piano Soundboard
The piano soundboard is located inside the piano and is usually attached with screws or bolts. Use your screwdriver set or socket wrench set to remove the screws or bolts. Once the soundboard is removed, set it aside safely.

The soundboard is fragile and can be easily damaged. Be careful when removing it and handle it with care.
Step 7: Remove the Piano Action
The piano action is located inside the piano and is usually attached with screws or bolts. Use your screwdriver set or Allen wrench set to remove the screws or bolts. Once the action is removed, set it aside safely.

The piano action is heavy and can be difficult to remove. You may need help from another person to lift it out of the piano.
Step 8: Remove the Piano Harp
The piano harp is located inside the piano and is usually attached with screws or bolts. Use your socket wrench set to remove the screws or bolts. Once the harp is removed, set it aside safely.

The piano harp is very heavy and can be difficult to remove. You may need help from another person to lift it out of the piano.
Step 9: Pack and Move the Piano Parts
Now that you’ve taken your piano apart, you’ll need to pack and move the parts safely. Use bubble wrap or moving blankets to protect the parts during transport. Label each part clearly so you know where it belongs when it’s time to reassemble the piano.

Step 10: Reassemble the Piano
